Music for viola da gamba, viols, keyboard and voice... in early music performance editions.

Welcome to RipMeister Publications. Our mission is to add to the repertory for viola da gamba by offering music that we, as performers, have wanted to see published. This includes new music for viol; period music never before published, out of print or hard to find; adaptations in the spirit of period performance practice; vocal works with viol or suitable for viol consort; and some things just for fun! As musicians, we appreciate and strive to present clear, readable, performance editions with background information. We hope you enjoy them. - - - Daniel Rippe, Editor

Audio Samples Are Here!

Now you can hear how the music in our editions sounds! Wherever you see this symbol [ ] you may click and listen to audio excerpts of music from our catalog. As we "tune up" this feature, we'll be adding more and more sound excerpts. This idea began as part of a recording project: a CD entitled The Vocal Viol. The upcoming CD will feature vocal repertoire performed on viols (from solo up to six-part consorts) and will include bass viol duos found in our edition of the same name, RIP-10 The Vocal Viol. Find it on our Catalog page.
