About the Editions
These are new saddle-stitched paper back editions, reproduced on 28- or 32-pound stock (or heavier) white paper of 94 brightness (or higher), with a finished size of 8 ½ by 11 inches. Covers are 64-pound Bristol Vellum cover stock in muted or pastel colors.
Text for the editions is set in Garamond, a typeface based on the sixteenth-century type designs of Claude Garamond, redrawn by Robert Slimbach in 1989. We use a digitized version supplied by Monotype Typography, Ltd.
Saddle Stitching
A printed document is saddle stitched by stapling its sheets at the fold of the spine, over a mechanical "saddle". Saddle stitching is used for journals, magazines, newsletters and editions of music.
